Important information for Home Based Business Licenses

In-home instruction and Daycares in accordance with 8.2, Garage/Yard sales, Agriculture-Animals, Agriculture-Food, Agriculture- Equipment, Minor (Under 18 yrs. old) Operated Business.
- All service and repair must be worked on within a building or structure.
- Inspections are required at the expense of the applicant.

Follow tax regulations: Ensure that you understand and comply with any tax regulations related to operating a home-based business. The Utah State Tax Commission website can provide you with information on state tax requirements: Utah State Tax Commission
Obtain necessary insurance: Consider contacting an insurance agent to discuss whether you need any additional insurance coverage for your home-based business.
Some types pf businesses require a fire inspection from the Tooele County Fire Marshal. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted if your business requires an inspection
Refunds shall only be permitted when no City work has been performed in connection with the fee, unless expressly set forth herein. Exceptions may be approved by the City Council in exceptional circumstances. Credit card fees and fees charged by or collected for another government entity shall not be refunded.
